Backspacer, the new album by Pearl Jam is out today and it ROCKS!!! I downloaded it from itunes at 4am this morning and the office was rocking all morning.
This would have to be the first time I’ve been able to describe a Pearl Jam album as fun, upbeat and almost ‘poppy’. If you loved Unemployable, Green Disease, Given To Fly, Worldwide Suicide, Spin The Black Circle you’re going to love this.
I can yet workout what song is my favourite on the album, they are all wild – there is no filler. The influences appear to be based in solid rock with a fair slab of 80s rock (the good stuff).
As a bonus you can download two full length live concerts. I’ve just finished listening to East Rutherford (New Jersey) in 2006. I picked this one because it looked good on the screen, but you should hear these New Yorkers and Jersey boys and girls rocking and going off!! The show was recorded at the indoor venue next to where I’ll be seeing Bruce Springsteen and if this is any indication of the crowd response, it is going to be HUGE! I can’t wait to be Amongst the Wave of the crowd.
Los Angeles Gibson amp – here I come!!!
People have asked me why I’m seeing Pearl Jam two night in a row in Los Angeles and then again in November in Perth. These are always people who have never been to a Pearl Jam show – those who have just call me a lucky bastard. Some just call me a bastard – of course they’re both right, but jealousy is a terrible trait in a person! haha
Oh well, back to work I go...
